I’ve seen a rise in demand for good learning options in SEO.
SEO Coaching VS SEO Courses? Many SEO learners and business owners are unsure if they should choose SEO coaching or SEO courses online. I explore the main differences between these two options aiming to help you pick the best one for your individual learning style. This article applies to the Career SEO or SME owner who wants to upskill in SEO for their own website.
Why do people ask the question?
- The SME owner that reaches out feels that they could do SME SEO themselves, but have to find time for a 10 week course.
- I also have SME clients who went the SEO agency route and were not happy with the results / experience.
- The student that reaches out wants to learn hands on SEO, and in most cases the courses seem to not teach it that way.
- The career SEO wants to upskill, in most cases the courses are too fundamental.
- Tools / Reports – how to use them and how to report SEO – most courses still seem to refer to older tools.
Why the SEO Coach?
- I have 25 years of SEO, and a lot of really fun stories 🙂
- I coach SEO practically by optimising a live site of my students choosing.
- My SEO coaching focuses on the fundamentals and that is best practice SEO
- I coach my students in 5 sessions vs 10 weeks.
- I am an agile SEO coach – when things happen we look at them in real time vs a curriculum that can become obsolete in part after any algorithm update
Key Takeaways
- SEO coaching offers a tailored and hands-on learning experience, suited to your business needs.
- SEO coaching pivots in real time – SEO is a fundamental practice, but it needs correct application in an ever changing world
- Online SEO courses provide a structured curriculum but might not offer the personal touch of coaching.
- Coaching aids in applying SEO strategies better, while courses give a wider base of knowledge.
- Coaching is usually pricier than courses but can give a higher return on investment for businesses needing custom solutions.
- Online courses are more affordable and accessible, ideal for those with a limited budget or busy schedule.
The Distinction Between SEO Coaching and SEO Courses Online
Choosing between SEO coaching and online courses can be tricky. Both aim to boost your SEO skills but differ in key ways. It’s important to know these differences.
SEO Coaching VS SEO Courses – the Fundamental Differences
I’m a career SEO. Because of this fact SEO coaching is a real time thing. Being a career SEO means I keep my skills sharp, helping my students and clients. Coaching is more hands-on and current with Google updates. Google update 523+ times per year. A course cannot pivot in real time. Google changed massively in August 2023, focusing on-site and new copywriting methods. Online courses might struggle to adapt as quickly. Just as that passed us by – along came AI which has had a stunning impact in the world of marketing.
Pros and Cons of SEO Coach vs SEO Course
SEO courses are excellent for the basics. Yet, they have some downsides as discussed above. SEO coaching, however, is more practical and timely. Your coach (Me) will keep you updated on Google changes, keeping you ahead. Choosing between SEO coaching and courses depends on your needs and how you learn best. Knowing the differences helps you pick what’s right for your business and SEO goals.
Me….Well I would definitely go with the SEO coach not because I am one, but because my students tell me its the better learning experience 🙂
